Senior Assistant Manager, Research Management & Business Development
Reporting to the Director of Smart Technologies Laboratory, the programme/project manager will be responsible for the operation and administration of the laboratory, and the management of the research projects under the laboratory.

As the only administrative incumbent in the Smart Technologies Lab, you shall manage and administer a full range of research manpower, grant, finance, and procurement functions to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.

Operation and Administration
  • Set up requisite workflow, protocols and standard operating procedures for the laboratory in consulation with the Director
  • Plan and organise events for the Smart Technologies Lab such as workshops, seminars and talks


Grant Pre-Award
  • Lead and coordinate engagement with various stakeholders such as prospective PIs, grantors and industry on grant submission-related matters.
  • Solicit, collate, and seek clearance on supporting documents such as NTU Contribution Form (NCF), Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) and referee/reviewer reports with appropriate DOA for grant applications.


Grant Post-Award
  • Manage project KPIs and Smart Technologies Lab's objectives as per MRCA and PAs
  • Undertake a spectrum of processes arising from grant variation such as fund virement, budget phasing, research manpower hiring and project extension.
  • Review and perform administrative checks on project progress reports in compliance with the requirements of grantor.


Project Completion and Grant Closure
  • Prepare and collate project final reports in compliance with the requirements of grantor
  • Submit final report and raise account closure via NTU Research Information System (RISE)


Requirements:
  • Degree qualification or equivalent from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience, preferably in a finance, research or Institute of Higer Learning (IHL) environment.
  • Knowledge of grant administration is preferred. Familiarity with HR, office administration, procurement/finance, grant administration and logistics operation and activities
  • Familiarity with RISE, Workday, Ariba and SAP Hana systems will be advantageous.
  • Good planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • IT savvy with good knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications
