NTU is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in Office of Development and Facilities Management. The department oversees the physical development and maintenance of all university buildings and grounds in support of the academic, research and administrative functions of the University. You will be responsible for the electrical engineering works, and to support the growth of NTU in creating excellent facilities with a green university environment which is conducive for lifelong learning as well as creativity and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the electrical engineering aspect of the campus and the buildings which will encompass administering, planning and managing both the operation and maintenance works as well as new Electrical Systems projects comprises of 66kV & 22kV Electrical Sub-Stations, Power Transformers, HV/LV distribution systems and networks, LV Switch rooms/ Standby Generators, Campus Electricity Billings, Solar Photovoltaic System, 1-Way EVC System, Security Card Access/CCTV Systems, Electrical Assets, Annual Electrical/Power Shutdowns, etc, in Campus and NTU facilities in Clean Tech One (CTO).
  • Propose conceptual design for development, upgrading, modernization, test beds and R&R projects with input from stakeholders/users.
  • Manage consultants and contractors and to get them to liaise and work with stakeholders to obtain their requirements and needs for incorporation into project brief.
  • Attend meetings with project team and evaluate/advise on appropriate electrical engineering design to meet the project objectives, requirements, and budget.
  • Evaluate, scrutinize, and enhance the designs/specifications provided by consultants and contractors to ensure quality, adherence to standards, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage external consultants and contractors tasked with executing projects and operational and maintenance activities, ensuring they perform their duties safely with appropriate risk assessments and workplace safety protocols in place to mitigate project risks.
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders/users in the resolution of technical issues when needed and undertake any other administrative works, tasks or responsibilities as required by Management in the course of work.
  • Manage projects and maintenance contracts amounting to a total estimated project value of $67 Mil.


Requirements:
  • A recognised degree in Electrical Engineering or Building & Facilities Management
  • At least 3 years related experiences in various building services and electrical systems as well as in project management and supervisory roles in the construction or upgrading works of electrical systems for Institutions and laboratories.
  • Good project management knowledge in building services/systems (22kV/400V/230V Electrical System, Solar PV, Generators, lightings, power meters, etc),
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with other stakeholders.
  • Proficient in problem-solving, critical thinking and data analysis to address technical issues and challenges encountered on-site.
