Accountant (General Ledger)

The essential responsibilities include:

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities, including GL journal entries, and preparation of the relevant financial and management reports
  • Conduct financial analysis of the performance of various business initiatives, provide analyses and commentaries on monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Filing of statutory, business statistics and other types of returns as required by local tax and legal legislations
  • Liaising with suppliers and external/internal auditors, coordinate with the tax agent on tax compliance, as well as ensure that all accounting activities comply with the group accounting policies and Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS)
  • Assist in projects in driving efficiency through cost initiatives and projects which include process automation and documentation
  • Understand business flow and financial procedures
  • Assist the finance department in formulating and implementing internal controls
  • Other ad-hoc assignments

Formal Education & Certification

  • Degree holder in Accountancy or ACCA equivalent; preferably a qualified CA

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of strong experience preferably in retail environment
    Prior experience in audit

Personal Attributes

  • Team player with good communication, strong initiative and supervisory skills
  • Focus and able to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
  • High proficient in MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and Navision system
    Mature, independent, self-initiative and self-driven
