Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real world applications.

We are looking for a dedicated researcher to join ERIAN as Research Associate to participate in a Research project under INSPIRASI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop workflow and methodology for phytoremediation study.
  • Identify and study phytoremediation efficacy of various plant species
  • Conduct characterization on samples, such as SEM, TEM, ICP, FTIR etc.
  • Collaborate with local and international collaborators on phytoremediation projects
  • Guide undergraduate/postgraduate project students.
  • Fulfill any other assigned duties as needed.


Job Requirements
  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or relevant field.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in phytoremediation and phytomining processes.
  • Experience in sample preparation techniques for electron microscopy.
  • Experience in characterization techniques such SEM, TEM, ICP, FTIR etc.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal English.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
  • Responsible and passionate self-starter.
